Since the university began in 1914, The Prospector has provided students, faculty and staff with the latest news, opinions, entertainment and sports activities that happen both on and off campus. The Prospector is your source for all the information you need to enrich your college experience.

The Prospector is published on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the fall and spring semesters (except when there are special issues, then it is published once a week on Tuesdays), and on Wednesdays during the summer sessions.

The Prospector also publishes additional news and breaking news online at www.utepprospector.com.  Our website additionally offers videos, slide shows and podcasts to enhance the readers’ experience.

The Prospector circulates 5,000 issues every publication day. It is distributed to more than 60-targeted points on our beautiful campus. Anywhere you go among our Bhutanese-inspired buildings, a stand holding The Prospector is in sight. Our special issues are also distributed to key locations off campus.
