Indoor Soccer Rules

Playing Area

§        All games shall be played on the SRC Mac Gym.

§        All walls in the SRC are inbounds.

§        Only the ceiling (raised basketball hoops are considered part of the ceiling) is out of bounds, kicking the ball in this place results in a free kick for the other team.

The Game

§        Each indoor soccer team shall field no more than six people at one time. (Co-ed teams, a maximum, three shall be men).

§        A game shall consist of two continuous 20 minute halves, with a five minute half-time.

§        The clock will only be stopped when there is an injury which requires stoppage of play.

§        Games that start late cannot last longer than the hour allotted to them.

§        Draws are draws; overtime will only be played in the playoffs!

§        Substitutions may be made on the fly as in ice hockey.

§        There is no offside rule.

Fouls

§        The fundamental rules of outdoor soccer apply in indoor soccer–i.e. no handballs, tripping, hitting, fouling, etc.

§        In addition, slide tackles are not allowed (you would be nuts to try one anyway).

In the event of a tie, a winner will be decided by penalty kicks.

All other rules not covered by this supplement shall be governed by Recreational Sports outdoor soccer rules.
