It is essential to remember that you must take full responsibility for maintaining your visa status. That is, you are responsible for finding out, knowing, and following appropriate regulations.

If you get an early start to familiarize with what the requirements, you should find it easy to maintain your legal status. If you however fall “out of status”, it may be difficult to reinstate your visa status. The best resource to assist you in maintaining your status is the staff at Office of Internal Programs (OIP).

Every staff member is devoted and assures that all the required forms and papers are filled out and in order. The staff at OIP take walk-ins, and go through a step-by-step process on what is needed to maintain your status active.

It is important for students to check their E-mail accounts, as the staff will send them important messages.
