Mock DWI Traffic Stop:

Mock DUI

Date:  March 3, 2014

Time: Between 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

Location:  Wiggins Road (Between Leech Grove & UGLC)

Participants:  UTEP Police Department

Short Description:  The University Police Department will conduct a mock traffic stop and perform a series of tests on the driver as if s/he is driving while intoxicated.  Driver will then be placed in handcuffs and taken to the University Police Department.

Target Audience:  Student, Staff and Faculty

Description: No D.U.I. El Paso’s ‘Pick Up’! We provide designated drivers to anybody in the city of El Paso for FREE. We are a non-profit organization available to pick you and your car up from the bar and take you home if you are too drunk to drive. DOWNLOAD this APP NOW!

Location: Union East/ Tomas River Conference Center

Description:  Sean’s journey into his new life started at the crash site.  At the time of his motor vehicle crash, Sean was a student at Midwestern State University majoring in Business Administration. He was the passenger in a truck, driven by a college friend who was drunk. As the truck spun and slammed into a tree, Sean’s journey began. Participants eligible to win a 1-year UTEP Parking Pass.

Description: A big-city newspaper columnist is forced to enter a drug and alcohol rehab center after ruining her sister’s wedding and crashing a stolen limousine. Starring Sandra Bullock & Viggo Mortensen

MADD Trailer- Car Crash Exhibit


Date/Time: All Week

Location: University Ave/Union Entrance

Description: MADD’s Crash vehicle has been permanently mounted into a trailer (25’ X 8’) and enclosed in plexus-glass. A four-time repeat offender hit this vehicle, which killed 20-year-old Ryan Kyle Smith. This event is detailed on a storyboard on the trailer.
