The Career Center offers career services for currently enrolled UTEP students. These include one-on-one career advising, résumé and CV reviews, interview coaching, workshops/events, online resources, the Internship Program, Career Closet, and Resource Area.
All Career Center services are available to alumni for two semesters after they graduate (this includes summer). Alumni who have graduated more than a year ago will need to contact the Office of Alumni Relations at (915) 747-8600 and purchase a membership to continue to receive services provided by the Career Center.
Most student jobs are posted in Job Mine, the Career Center’s student online employment database. If you have not already activated your Job Mine account, you can do so by clicking here. Once your account is active, you can upload a résumé and start applying to different on-campus positions.
International students should begin their search by visiting the Office of International Programs (OIP). International students can activate their Job Mine account in order to start looking for positions on and off campus.
The Career Center offers one-on-one career advising sessions to assist students who have already selected a career path. If you need help choosing a major, we recommend you first visit the University Counseling Center for career counseling or check out the Choices program and then visit us for an advising session. If you are interested in career advising, you can set up an appointment with a professional staff member (college liaison) or a Peer Career Advisor by calling (915) 747-5640.
Yes. If you already have a résumé and would like it reviewed, Peer Career Advisors are available to assist you on a walk-in basis. If you need help writing your first résumé draft, then you can visit the Career Center or check out our online sample résumés. If you are a graduate student or doctoral candidate, you will need to set up an appointment with a professional staff member by calling (915) 747-5640 or visiting the Career Center – 103 W. Union Bldg.

Students can check out professional business attire. Men: blazers, dress shirts, dress pants and ties. Women: blazers and skirts. Students will need a valid student ID. Items must be returned dry-clean along with the receipt for verification.
The computer lab is available to you to: activate your Job Mine account, job searching, creating/revising your résumé or graduate school application, internship searches, printing, and other career related usage. If there is availability, the computer lab may be used for students needing to do homework.

Dinner etiquette is an interactive workshop that combines a formal, five-course dinner with a professional presentation. Students learn various styles of proper eating and techniques for navigating dinner conversation. This event is held once every semester and is sponsored by the University Career Center and the Student Engagement & Leadership Center. Students can register through Job Mine. There is a fee to attend this event.
